The latest Instagram update pushed out version 7.15 of their iOS and Android app yesterday, and it came with an update that all of us marketers have been desperately waiting for–and it’s not the perfect filter that makes you look super fly. You can finally, FINALLY switch accounts on one app.

Instagram Update Makes It Easy for Your Business

For the personal user, this may not be a big deal or anything you will ever actually use, but for businesses, this is a godsend. No longer do you need a special office phone or do you have to take the time to log out of your personal account and log back into another. Instagram now allows you to add up to five accounts. This change finally puts the “insta” back in Instagram for marketers. More importantly, this is another sign that Instagram sees themselves as an increasingly important tool for companies to communicate with their consumers. If you were hesitant before to create an Instagram account for your business, now is the time.

The Good News: Switch Between Multiple Instagram Accounts

Starting this week, you can quickly and easily switch between multiple accounts on Instagram!  Go to your profile settings to add an additional account. From there, tap your username at the top of your profile to switch between accounts. Once you have multiple accounts added, you’ll see your profile photo appear in places throughout the app so you can always tell which one you’re using at the moment. To learn more, check out help.instagram.com. Account switching will be available as part of Instagram version 7.15 for iOS and Android.
