With over 25 years of experience at various companies as an in-house developer, J. brings unique talent and experience to our engineering team. He is able to jump into any aspect of a development project to lend a hand. His experience as an Elementary Education major granted him the ability to explain complicated processes and teach other developers new tricks.

Get to Know J. Better

J. Aller grew up in Harrisburg, the capital of Pennsylvania. In High School he was the stereotypical A.V. Club guy. He developed his first website for the township he lived in as an independent study program in 1996. The website and an article about him was published in the capital’s newspaper. It was the first of its kind for any Township in Pennsylvania.

Aside from A.V. Club and web design, he also had a passion for teaching. He attended Clearwater Christian College, in the Tampa Bay region, dual majoring in Elementary Education/Special Education. The original plan was to become a teacher, although his dislike for the public school system in Florida pushed him away from that career path and back into the tech industry.

With over 25 years of experience at various companies as in-house developer, J. joined the Matchbox engineering team in October of 2022 as a Full-Stack Developer. In this role, he is able to jump into any aspect of a development project to lend a hand. His experience as an Elementary Education major granted him the ability to explain complicated processes and teach other developers new tricks.

    “I fix stuff.”

    “I enjoy designing objects to create with my 3D printers and watching terrible horror movies with my partner.”

    “I can wiggle my ears?”

    “London 2012 Olympics”

    “I earned the rank of Eagle Scout at age15.”
