Matchbox Design Group has had a great year so far in 2016. For starters, we have been celebrating our 10th year anniversary all year long. That’s right, we have been in business for 10 years! (Party information coming soon).
We have launched our new website, which is running great and we are very happy (GO TEAM)! We have been named to at least two lists as “The 25 Best Web Designers In St. Louis.” (More on that later).
The team has grown with the addition of myself (Digital Strategist) in order to focus on strategy, SEO, SEM in combination with our Content Department to make your websites rank better once they are launched. We have also recently added a new Account Manager who does amazing work and keeps this place running as one cohesive unit. Being Recognized By Peers
On top of all that news, we have been recognized by our peers on a few occasions and we will be honest with you, we were put on these lists and didn’t really know what to think. We didn’t want to make a big deal out of it, just in case it was some sort of scam. And we didn’t want to ignore it, just in case it was something awesome and we were being too cautious.
I personally looked into the three companies that were awarding us for our Website Design expertise in our own city of St. Louis. I will say I was not able to find anything shady or negative about any of the three companies and if anything, we are at least getting backlinks from pretty good websites. Coming from someone who does SEO, this is always a good thing and something to celebrate in and of itself.
After digging a little deeper, I did find some positives about these awards or listings and there are many positives. But trust me when I say we will not turn down backlinks, so if anyone out there wants to write a nice blog review or some other write-up in your newspaper for our 10 year anniversary, please, don’t hold back.
With all of that said, here are the three most recent Awards and Listings that we would like to showcase.
25 Best Web Designers In St. Louis and Firms That Deliver
The first company that I will talk about that has listed us in their directory first asked us for references of previous clients. They then interviewed those references, which turned into the backbone of our profile page given to us by Clutch.co. I was skeptical at first, but they are doing the work of going to our former clients, gathering the information on us and then listing us in the categories with other firms from around the country. Of course, our listing provides our basic information, links to some of the work we have done and reviews from our clients that they have contacted. We are then put into Clutch’s main directory. There doesn’t seem to be a search option, but you can find your listings when you select categories of expertise or cities.
So far, we think this is a good deal and we are proud to be listed here. We will see if it ends up just being a backlink or if it turns into bigger and better things.
Clutch – Firms that Deliver
The second company that I will talk about that has put us on a nice list and states we are the best amongst the best is Expertise.com. We are listed on their “25 Best Web Designers in St. Louis in 2016.” They say they looked at 251 different agencies in the city and picked 25 from that long list. We are proud to be listed as part of this great group of firms in the city of St. Louis. They actually do go through a little bit of how they came to their conclusion that Matchbox Design Group belongs in the top 25 and I figured I would talk about some of those criteria.

They say they used:

The third and final company that has recognized us so far this year is called UpCity.com. They have put us on their list of top or “25 best web designers in St. Louis.” I actually haven’t taken the time to go through both lists and see if they are the same or not as that seemed like too much work looking into another company that is trying to say nice things about us. I didn’t feel like being so skeptical and was just going to go with it. This is the exact blurb from the UpCity website that talks about how their list was finalized.
“We’ve selected these firms based on how well these companies represent themselves online; from the user experience of the company’s website, to their social media presence and prominence in organic search results. We hope you enjoy our list and reach out to us for your small or big business website.”
We Were Happy To Be Chosen
We are happy to be on each list and we’re happy for the other firms on each list, as well. Because, as we go through and look at each firm on the separate lists, we believe they deserve their place!
You can find our phone number and website on each listing or award and contact us that way. So going back to my “at least we will get a link out of it. This is also a great place for potential clients to read about us and other firms. Contact us and hopefully move on with business from there.
I wanted to write this blog to toot our horn a little, thank each of these organizations for including us on their lists and say we are deserving good web designers in St. Louis. I also want to let all of the other companies that we are listed with know that we think you all do good work and think St. Louis has a great pool of talent in the web design and online marketing areas of expertise in general. This includes: building new websites, all branding, SEO and SEM plus many more services offered by Matchbox Design Group.
