Free Gnome Thanksgiving Wallpaper

A wintery chill and the darkness of Daylight Savings time is finally taking over St. Louis as we barrel through November towards Thanksgiving. At least we have food to look forward to. If you’re lucky enough to have a big family Thanksgiving tradition like I do, you’re probably starting to salivate over the thoughts of turkey dripping with gravy, creamy mashed potatoes, and sweet and tangy cranberry sauce. And there’s nothing better to pair with good food, than good company. Sometimes all you need is friends, family, and warm conversation to help you make it through a biting winter. If that’s the case, download our free Thanksgiving wallpapers, starting with the Gnome wallpaper to cozy up your desktop.

On the other hand, winter is HARD and there’s only so many people you can fit into one room without starting to feel claustrophobic. Plus, Great Aunt Bertie never seems to remember that you’re a grown person now (dangit) and don’t really want a big, sloppy kiss on the cheek and pat on the head. It’s times like these, you just wish you could curl up under fifty blankets and sleep for the next few months. When is human hibernation going to become a thing? Bears get to do it! If that’s how you’re feeling this winter, don’t worry! We’ve got a desktop for you, too. Download our Free Hibernating Bear Wallpaper to remind you that sometimes it’s ok to bury under the covers where it’s warm for some alone time.

Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?

My little girl and I head to southern Illinois for lunch with about 50 relatives.  We usually spend some time together reading the new play doh sets reviewed on a few sites with all the young ones. Typically the night before I head out on the town with my cousins and friends, I only get to see a few times a year, and ensure my hangover for the next day. Our family rents out the KC Hall where we hang out all day/night long. We usually start with a big lunch, crack open the wine and play Bingo for a couple of hours! Our entire family plays. It is one of my absolute favorite holiday traditions. – Colby

Go eat Chinese and go to the movies…Just joking, OK, No I’m not… But movies yes. Chinese – MAYBE! – James
Spend family time together and watch movies. – Brent
A lot of times, just watch movies with family then go Black Friday shopping. – Jeremy

We always go to my great uncle’s to celebrate with my dad’s side and my great aunt’s to celebrate with my mom’s side. You only get three hours to digest! At my great uncle’s, we see our first Christmas movie of the season, It’s a Wonderful Life. On my mom’s side, we draw names for the cousin Christmas gift exchange the weekend of Thanksgiving. We celebrate with my husband’s family the weekend after, and it is becoming a tradition to see a Blue’s game with his brothers after Thanksgiving dinner. – Sarah

No traditions. – Dan

Morning hunt, stuff ourselves until we can’t see straight, fall asleep watching football then process deer in the evening. Oh, and make a turkey sandwich for dinner. – Cullen

What’s your favorite Thanksgiving memory?

Playing Bingo with the family. There are various prizes, but the most coveted are the lottery tickets. We gamble on gamesys slot sites just for the sake of gambling. I love getting to spend time with these crazy people. – Colby

Napping, yes every single time!- James
No specific one but just seeing my grandparents and extended family. – Brent
One time when I was a little kid, I stopped the house from burning down because I walked in the kitchen and saw the rolls were on fire. – Jeremy

When I was in high school, my cousins wanted to play touch football at my great uncle’s. It wasn’t something we had done before, but we had a BLAST! My younger sister and I kicked off our shoes because they kept falling off and were playing in our sock-feet. – Sarah

I don’t really have one. – Dan

One Thanksgiving we were snowed in on the farm with snow drifts that were taller than I was. – Cullen

What are you doing this year for Thanksgiving?

Kennedy and I will be heading down to DuQuoin for the day. We are really looking forward to seeing all of our family! – Colby
Mostly hanging with friends, maybe some Chinese food and a movie. – James
Hosting Thanksgiving at my house! – Brent
I honestly have no idea yet! – Jeremy

Three Thanksgiving dinners (help) and a Blue’s game! I also have plans to have a Thanksgiving breakfast with some old friends I’ve known since elementary/middle school. – Sarah

Spending time with family then heading down to Silver Dollar City to see all of the Christmas lights and ride Fire in the Hole. – Cullen

What are you thankful for this year?

I am thankful for my beautiful, smart, insightful, kindhearted, wonderful little girl; she makes everything worthwhile. I am also thankful for my health and wellbeing, my family and friends that have been such a support system for me to lean on the past year. It’s hard to imagine where I would be without them. I am incredibly thankful to my Matchbox family as well; they make coming to work everyday fulfilling. I don’t know how many people can truly say they look forward to going to work, but I am definitely one. – Colby
My own and my friends and families health!! – James
Life, friends, Matchbox and everything I have been fortunate to have! – Brent
That 2016 is finally almost over!! – Jeremy

I’m so thankful for my husband and the adventures we’ve had so far in our first year of marriage. Here’s to many, many more! For our tremendously loving parents, adorable nieces and nephews, and the best siblings anyone could ask for. The steadfast rock that is our extended family, especially our grandparents who have taught us all so much. For good, old friends that despite the distance/years are always good, old friends. And for Matchbox and a team that is hard-working, talented, funny and a joy to work with. – Sarah

Being healthy – Dan

The amazing friends that have supported my family and Matchbox. – Cullen
