Meet Tracey Jones – Junior Developer
Describe yourself in 3 words.
“Feisty, persistent, bubbly, and… unconventional.”
Where did you grow up?
“I’ve lived my whole life in St. Louis (well, St. Charles). I’ll be moving to Kansas City shortly though!”
What do you do at Matchbox Design Group?
“I am a Junior Support Engineer which means I get to help resolve and debug issues for our clients. I also help out on the development team with the front-end projects.”
What do you like most about working here?
“Working remotely is certainly new and exciting for me, but that’s only possible when the team is as supportive and collaborative as this one is!”
What did you do before working at Matchbox Design Group?
“I’ve worked a few roles in retail and IT over the last several years, but I’ve been self-learning web development along the way. It’s exciting to be breaking into my career with such an amazing company!”
What do you do in your spare time?
“I’ve been reading a lot of e-books and expanding my movie tastes. I play video games occasionally and create hobby websites. I also like to teach my dog (the one in the cover photo) new things and cuddle with my cat.”
Favorite St. Louis activity, restaurant, or spot?
“I have always adored the City Museum. It was loads of fun as a kid and now, as an adult, it’s STILL loads of fun. Also, it’s really cool recognizing how creative the building is when you’re old enough to appreciate it.”
What digital/design/dev trend are you the most excited about these days?
“I’m still jumping into the dev game, but I really like ReactJS and similar frameworks. I love being able to break things apart into digestible components and managing state just speaks to me.”
Special talent you have?
“Making a mess…”
Famous person, you’ve met?
“No one! Unless Santa Clause at the mall counts.”
What’s something awesome about you that no one else knows?
“I am really good, like master-class, at Solitaire and Sudoku.”
Welcome to the team, Tracy Jones.
