Meet Lauren Hunt – Account Manager
Describe yourself in 3 words.
“Dynamic, soft-hearted, positive.”
Where did you grow up?
“I grew up in Tuscola, which is a small town in central Illinois.”
What do you do at Matchbox Design Group?
“I am an Account Manager.”
What do you like most about working here?
“This question is easy. The people who work for Matchbox are great teammates. Everyone here has been welcoming and kind. I’ve been impressed with how smart and creative people here are, too.”
What did you do before working at Matchbox Design Group?
“For five years I worked at a start-up company that developed and managed online education programs. I was the first full-time employee there, starting as a Marketing Coordinator, then an Enrollment Specialist, and then an Assistant Director. I had met the owner of the education company during an internship where I worked as an Account Manager for another St. Louis based marketing agency.”
What do you do in your spare time?
“I like spending time at home with my boyfriend and our pets, playing volleyball, thrift/antique shopping, and visiting with friends & family (especially if there are board games involved).”
Favorite St. Louis activity, restaurant Or spot?
“My favorite spot would probably be WAVE Taco, which is unfortunately only open in the summers because it is literally 3 sand volleyball courts and a bar downtown. There are so many good places to eat that it’s impossible to choose. I really enjoy walking through the Art Museum and the Botanical Gardens every year.”
What digital/design/dev trend are you the most excited about these days?
“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, companies and influencers are being forced to work from their home and come up with new ways to reach audiences without the benefits of their normal workspace and resources. This is causing an uptick in honest, real content that is more focused on what really matters without being pushy. That’s a trend I can get on board with.”
Special talent you have?
“I have a green thumb. I love gardening. I have 40+ houseplants and I am excited to get a garden going outside this year!”
Famous person, you’ve met?
“I got to meet Mac Miller when he was in St. Louis for his Divine Feminine Tour in 2016. His bodyguard said no touching, but he gave me a hug anyway!”
What’s something awesome about you that no one else knows?
“I can quote just about any line from The Office.”
