Meet JP Phillippe – Junior Copywriter
Describe yourself in 3 words.
“Talks. To. Himself.”
Where did you grow up?
What do you do at Matchbox Design Group?
“I am a Junior Copywriter. I help clients fulfill their content goals and push them to pursue lofty and ambitious creative ideas. I also work with the rest of the SEO team to make sure that our client’s content aligns amazingly with their overall creative and business strategies.”
What do you like most about working here?
“Everyone takes care of each other when you work here. And that goes for the clients as well. I genuinely feel like I’m being considered when we’re planning everything out.”
What did you do before working at Matchbox Design Group?
“I interned with various companies including other creative agencies and independent film studios.”
What do you do in your spare time?
“Ironically, I spend most of my time writing when I’m not writing. I love to create things across different mediums. I got my writing start in comedy, so I do a lot of sketch writing and I even perform stand-up comedy when I have the time. I’m also really (like unhealthily) into Star Wars. So, chances are I’m reading the latest SW novel and reading about it online.”
Favorite St. Louis activity, restaurant, or spot?
“I’m currently remote so come back to me.”
What digital/design/dev trend are you the most excited about these days?
“I think there has been a huge increase in organizations utilizing a very brutalist design scheme. So, I’m really curious about how the copy evolves to match that. Is it simple like the design? Does it become complex to compliment it?”
Special talent you have?
“You probably know 7 guys that look like me so I’m pretty good at blending in.”
Famous person, you’ve met?
What’s something awesome about you that no one else knows?
“Nothing. I make an effort to communicate every single awesome thing about me as soon as I meet someone.”
