Get to Know Katie Better

Katie Smith grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO with her degree in Public Communication. After moving to St. Louis Katie was involved in a small agency owned SaaS startup which created the perfect storm for her to take on the role of Digital Producer, one she’s enjoyed for several years. She loves the role because she’s been able to apply personality strengths like connecting with team members and clients, while also applying hands-on experience gathered throughout her career.

As a Digital Producer Katie interacts with all departments at Matchbox ensuring that each area of our work on any given project is moving accurately and efficiently. The digital producer role has been gaining popularity in this industry for a few years which has made it especially exciting for Katie as her career grows. A digital producer has a greater understanding for the digital process as a whole and can communicate with both technical and non-technical team members, all while ushering a project and client through the process.

Process automation is an area that continues to grow in our industry and Katie’s excited to see the adoption and evolution of productivity tools as they relate to digital projects. The work agencies create for clients have continued to level up and it’s great to see the internal resources teams use are beginning to catch up.
